One Year Later. . .
Current mood: thankful

Exactly one year ago today I arrived in Woodland Hills, California with Mallori and my Dad.
After the 19 hour drive that consisted of getting lost in Portland after buying cherries and water; pee'ing on the side of the highway at the "Welcome to California" sign at the border; and pulling over in a deserted farmland to take a nap at 6am, then meeting my Fasha in Sacremento to have breakfast with Cody, we arrived in Los Angeles County and unpacked a whole Uhaul in about an hour while experiencing the "valley" heat that none of us had even heard of.
I cannot even begin to tell you what everything that has happened this year has made me. I couldn't even claim to be slightly the same person.
In the last year of being in California the following has occured: My mom and I got stuck in a taco bell by LAX Airport, while the police tried to talk down a crazy homeless woman. I was evacuated from my house by a helicopter and about a dozen police on motorbikes, because the hills outside my house were on fire. Then, someone decided to shank somoene else in the face with a box cutter in Starbucks while I was working, and bleed all Over while me and one other person witnessed it all. I even had my first court deposition all over it too.
If you would have asked me six months ago what I thought about it here I would've said, "I hate California, and I'm going home as soon as I've given it a year". It's now been a year and if you were to now ask me what I thought about California I'd say, "Well, it's not Washington, but I'm not miserable." It's been a whole year. I honestly can't believe it. I feel So proud of mysefl for staying and being where I am now.
This year has been So exciting. I've made new friends while staying in touch with old ones. I've learned more about myself that one can possibly imagine learning in one year. I've obtained a full time job at West Hills Lab and a part-time one at Starbucks. I signed with a manager and experienced my first "hollywood audition" along with multiple more. Then I signed with an agency and now I'm taking classes with respectable directors and casting directors on a weekly basis. I am experiencing my dream, which I realized was simply being in my "element" and perfecting my craft; all while becoming 100% independent and satisfied with ME.
I can honestly say, at this point in my life I am happy & Nothing feels better than to sit back and realize it.

I send out a "thank you" to everyone who didn't tell me I was crazy for leaving WA and attempting this crazy goal.
I only pray that in a year, things will be going as steady or even better.

My scene study coach James Quattrochi always uses this quote--"The Only difference between me and you, is that I gave it one more day!"- Harrison Ford. I am so relieved that I listened to that and haven't given up.

I pray that everyone gets to this point in their life. The point where you can look at your life and say, "I am extrememly busy, I'm maybe not in the best of financial terms, What I'm doing is Hard and Stressful, But I am Happy and wouldn't change a thing right now!" The point in which you realize you are content and that turning back would be what makes you most Unhappy.

Many thanks and love again!

GOD bless! *MWAH* ---> KT

Short. Sweet. & Complicated.
Current mood: frustrate

Short Sweet and To the Point!

Dating- 101- by me.

1. If the guy you've been eyeing asks you out and then takes you to RED ROBIN in the MALL for your first date... you probably should've taken a hint that he's not too bright. But then when he tells you he thinks his Cousin is hot and he's looking for someone like her.... It's OVER! <-- THIS HAPPENED TO ME

2. When you're in the car with them after having a long conversation about how much you HATE smoking and cigarettes and they decide it's okay to "just joke around and blow smoke right in your face".. IT's OVER! <-- THIS happened to me

3. When you finally give in and tell them you really like them and then they tell you that they are also hanging out with another "really cool girl, who I play video games with".. IT'S OVER! <-- THIS ALSO happened to me

4. When he tells you that "you're such a cool girl. It's just like hanging out with an attractive guy". . IT'S OVER. then you think "how did that happen?" <-- Guess what? THIS HAPPENED!

Yes! All very embarrassing and true.
NO. It's not all the same guy!
I just must have bad luck!
Isn't there any Nice, Sweet, Cute, Tall, interesting, Spontaneous, Christian, Goal Oriented, REAL guys out there!? or should I say, OUT HERE in California!?
My guess is NO!
Feeling a tad bit bitter. But thanks to TOM for inventing MYSPACE and his BLOG section; I feel better with a little BLOG VENT!
BLOG SCHMOG!

Katie's Movie Review!!!
Current mood: satisfied

Alright folks.. I watched another film; so you know what that means. . .

KT'S MOVIE REVIEW
Just Like Heaven
It's funny how I'm always pleasantly surprised by Reese Witherspoons performance. For some odd reason, I'm always thinking that her films are going to suck. I honestly think it's cause of Legally Blonde. I can't stand that film. That one, or the 2nd one. So I just assume that all her movies are going to stink.
Boy was I wrong! Just like Heaven was amazing. I didn't go see this in the theaters cause I wasn't interested; but I am kicking myself for not having the big screen experience.
Even though the concept would seem highly unlikley to most people, I found it very comforting and romatic. I know, my friends that are reading this are thinking, "Katie thought it was romantic!?" (Cause I am not a sap and most of the time hate Romantic movies) But I really enjoyed this one.
The only film I can remember Mark Ruffalo from is "13 going on 30" and I liked him in that. He totally pulled off the character of David. It's a huge plus that he's sexy too!
Jon Heder(<- better known as "Napoleon Dynamite) has a small/disappointing role as a "sprirt guide" or something. I have yet to see him play a character without Napoleon Characteristics. He got quite the rave for this movie; and I don't see why. I would really like to see him play something outside of "napoleon" range to get the hype he does. {Don't get me wrong! I am a Napoleon Fan!}
Even though the sequence of events are pretty perdictable; the way that they are pulled together and more stuff is revealed is what I liked best about this film!
Plus it has a Happy Ending that makes sense! That's always a plus! I can't wait to get my hands on the soundtrack!
I, Katie, give this movie 4.75*'s out of my 5 possible *'s!

February 22--> My Anniversary!
Current mood: peaceful

Exactly one year ago (well okay.. it's 1am on the 23rd.. so a year and a day technically) I went to the INN at the University of Washington and saw Jim Caviezl speak. I will never forget that day.
If you are pretty close to me than you know that this day changed my life drastically. Basically in a nutshell..I just want to say, that if I said (and I probably did) "In a year I will be Different." It was a completely and utterly the most true statement I could've made.

To say the last year has been crazy, is an understatement. The last year has been; Incredible, scarey, terrifying, crazy, miraculas, INSANE, mature, and probably any other word you can think of. In the last 12 months I have moved to a new state, become a aunt (twice), met people I never would've thought I'd meet, ran a half marathon, moved AGAIN,{same state, different house}, Been a bridesmaid, discovered myself, lost myself, found myself again.. WOO WEE.. I just honestly don't even know where to begin.

Let me just say; Seeing Mr. Cavizel speak on the 22nd of February, 2005 was definatly not a fluke. I was pushed there for a reason. It was the first time, ever, in my life I felt like It was definatly time to make a change. If I ever met him I would be so overcome with things to say to him that I would probably not even be able to speak!

Anyway, this is kindof sortof my "Personal Anniversary"! and I am very proud of things that I have accomplished in the last year; and can only Pray that this year will bring me more to remember!

Seasons of . Love & Movie REVIEW!
Current mood: indescribable

I just got home from taking myself to see a movie. It's a tradition I decided to start about 5 years back. I go to see a movie on Christmas. Either with someone.. or without. So, tonight I went bymyself since I'm stuck in CA by myself for Xmas.... and I know it's not "christmas", but Christmas Eve.. BUT the movie ended after midnight..so TRADITION it stayed!!

The movie I saw was "Rent"

KATIE'S MOVIE REVIEW!!
I Can not tell you how amazing this film is. It is now tied at first place with "A league of their own" for my favorites. I sat there in the theater and laughed and sang and cried like a baby at parts.. and most of all, Did not want the movie to end. It was amazing.. to say the least. Everyone should go see this movie. I definatly recommend seeing it with friends or family though.. it's a "seeing together" type of movie. But I don't really have either of those out here YET, so I was very content with seeing it myself.

What is so great about this film is that It has orginal members of the Broadway Cast in it. Virtually everyone in it is orginal cast members, except of course Rosario Dawson and Taye Diggs. The fact that Taye Diggs, wife in real life is "maureen", I'm sure is the reason he is in this film. I was, however, Impressed by his singing ability. Not bad! And he wasn't a big factor in the movie.. so meh! Rosario Dawson on the other hand is AMAZING. She is one that can Belt it too. MAN-O-MAN. I don't know who the producers of this film were and I should look it up.. but COOTOES to them for getting her for "MiMi". She mastered the art of "singing drugged out catscratch dancer" like no other could.

Another surprise about this film was that, My acting coach from New York, Brian Delate.. showed up in this film. I dont stay in contact with him, and definatly should cause he is doing good. He played a Cop.. a small, small part but as I was sitting in the theater, (which was quite full) I seee Brian Delate and I literally jump up.. "That's Brian!" ( No i didn't yell it, I just pointed and thought it!) I definatly think that they should've given him a bigger role cause he is such an amazing actor. He taught me So much!

I'm going to Email him this week and tell him how surprised I was.

So anyway.. SEE RENT!

I know this is uber long.. but I just want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! But most of all.. A happy and blessed New Year. I know you'll think this is corney; but you have 525,600 minutes to make an impact this year and live with No regrets. Make it one to remember!!! I know I will.

4 days until I go home!! Can't wait!
LOVE TO ALL! GOD BLESS & HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

9 days!! &.. Movie Review
Current mood: restless

Only 9 Days until I'm going to be HOME! I cannot WAIT!

(that is.. only if I can find a ride to the airport!! ha ha)

Pathetic.. I know. But just excited! SORRY!! GOSH NAPOLEON!

Last night I watched the movie "Alot like Love" with Amanda Pete and Ashton Kutcher... LOVED IT
Are you all ready FOLKS!? It's Time for....

KATIE'S MOVIE REVIEW!!!
**************************
Being that I am not a huge fan of Amanda Pete, or Ashton Kutcher, I did not rush to see this movie in the theater or to grab it that exciting Tuesday that it came out! But many people told me that it was great and "Had to see it!"
But folks, I was wrong. This movie is going in my "favorite movie" section of Myspace now. I L-O-V-E-D it. I was really surprised at both actor's performances and can't say that I won't see either one of their next movies.
Randomly, both Emily (pete) and Oliver (Kutcher) run into eachother at the airport and ignore one another. Then they join the "mile high club" randomly. Then, once again, randomly... they run into eachother in NYC, which is virtually Impossible. And spend the day taking pictures and getting drunk. Then make a 6 year bet. It goes thru the 6 years with them "Randomly" meeting up. And of course.. in the end.. falling in love.
Since I am probably the most RANDOM person ever.. I really enjoyed this movie! And will put it on my Xmas list!

I, Katie, give this movie Five ***** (5) Stars!

Current mood: optimistic

I'm feeling inspired tonight... here are some of my favorite quotes of all time.

"Everyday is another chance to turn it all around!"
- Director Cameron Crow

"A goal is a dream with a time limit. Time your dreams to make them goals"
- not too sure.. heard it years ago and it's just stuck

"Plan your work, Work your plan"
-Not sure.. I think it was maybe... Matthew McConahey (also one I heard awhile ago)

Don't ask.. just thinking.. ALOT lately!
